Recently, North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory, signed new legislation that allows physicians to write standing orders for naloxone. As a result of the current opioid epidemic, measures have been taken to help prevent opioid overdoses in North Carolina. Naloxone is a medication that reverses of the effects of opioids. It’s available as an injection or as a nasal spray.
