Sarah Yenkelun is a licensed clinical social worker who believes each patient is unique and deserving of individualized treatment. Hailing from New England, Sarah received her bachelor’s degree in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies from the University of Connecticut. She received her master’s degree in Social Work from North Carolina State University.
Professionally, Sarah has a wide variety of experience working with diverse communities. She has been employed as a sexual-assault crisis counselor, a case manager for youth in foster care and as a counselor for homeless youth. She is a part-time member of the CPCH team and works full-time in the North Carolina Prison system.
At CPCH, Sarah works with individuals from all walks of life. She specializes in crisis intervention and stabilization, treating significant and persistent mental illness, working with victims of sexual assault, understanding and treating disordered eating as well as treating Justice-involved youth and adults. Sarah approaches each client from a strength-based perspective and is mindful of cultural and political climate and the impacts that has on individual wellness.
