Jake is a counseling intern currently in his graduate studies at University of the Cumberlands. He is studying to become a Clinical Mental Health Counselor and is under the Supervision of Jessica Booth, LMFT, LCAS-A at Cognitive Psychiatry of Chapel Hill. Jake has experience working with adult clients with anxiety, grief, and depression.
Jake is passionate about fostering positive change by working collaboratively with each client to identify and achieve their unique goals. Jake employs evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to assist the client in breaking down barriers which are keeping clients from improving their quality of life. He is also of the firm belief that physical and mental wellbeing are interconnected.
Jake has lived in the triangle area for 20 years and received his undergraduate psychology degree from North Carolina State University. He enjoys playing tennis, spending time with friends and family, and taking walks with his two dogs. Jake hopes to open a private practice after earning his license in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
